UnglueYou worked for us – Would it work for you?
Keeping performance and motivation levels at a constant high is a challenge even for the most driven and energetic of us. Coming back after the holidays still dreaming of bright lights and Christmas pudding, we can all do with a bit of help to refocus.
Finding something new to stay fresh in the world of the ‘tried and tested’ can be tricky. Outside Partner loves looking for those little gems that help keep things fresh.
This year we found Andrea and UnglueYou to launch us into 2019. Andrea Watts has a background in Art, Art Therapy and Social Care. Over many years of working with individuals in transition, she developed a unique methodology for people to connect with their values, purpose and passions by tapping into their unconscious.
Whereas vision boards and other image-based techniques continue to work at the conscious level, Andrea’s approach bypasses all that is overwhelming and confusing. UnglueYou facilitates accessing your complete wealth of internal resources and answers.
Opportunities for UnglueYou to support 1:1 coaching or mediation are easy to see. “However, we wanted to experience the benefits of the technique in facilitating group conversations requiring concrete outcomes in a business context.” (Janine Desai)
Our objective for the day was to deliver Clarity, Alignment & Energy for the 2019 Plan. We worked through images on a series of questions at individual and then at team level. “The insights gained into our own priorities as well as those resulting from the subsequent conversations with the team were powerful.” (Melanie Heavern)
Too arty? Too fluffy? Think again. “The method encourages open conversation about values, leadership and working style. However, talking through the images generated equally deep discussions about more commercial topics such as markets, target groups, product mix and innovation.” (Melanie Heavern)
“This methodology would work for any team who does not believe a serious strategic debate requires sitting around a table looking at a slide pack.” (Janine Desai)
“I particularly liked the fact that it encouraged us to raise a series of conflicting views but with no conflict.”(Barbara Murphy)
“Time was flying by but when we reviewed the outcomes, we had achieved everything we set out to do. We are stepping into the new year with the focus and energy required to achieve our goals.” (Saffron Gallacher)
We can see UnglueYou benefitting a broad range of business needs - from exploring individuals’ to team to company direction – anything requiring better conversations. Larger groups can be broken down into smaller conversation units for everyone to contribute equally to the issues on the table. Whether team dynamics, new structure or direction are keeping you up in 2019, this approach facilitates finding solutions from within.
If you want to take conversations to another level in your business and add a little colour to 2019 have a go at UnglueYou.
