Time to Recharge and Reflect

The final quarter of the year is fast approaching and for many it is the key period to secure the annual financial results. Entering this critical phase fully energized is key. Unfortunately and for all sorts of reasons, not all summer holidays allow you to truly recharge the batteries. Luckily, I discovered a place this year which I cannot possibly imagine to fail this objective: The Sonnenalp Resort in Southern Bavaria www.sonnenalp.de. You have never contemplated spending your summer holiday in Germany? Let me try to convince you otherwise:

I do know a bit about hotels and this one is nothing but spectacular. As the largest family-run hotel in Germany, it has built its reputation and impressive number of regular guests over the course of the last century. The service offers luxury without fuss. The pride in the family’s hospitality tradition and what it stands for is experienced throughout your stay. The hotel positions itself explicitly away from impersonal perfection and exclusivity. Sonnenalp is about being inclusive, connecting with others – or with nature, whilst still enjoying the finer things in life.

Whether your plan is to increase your fitness through physical activity, rejuvenate by working your way through the spa menu, or just taking in the lush green scenery, with children being taken care of by the most extensive kids and youth programme imaginable, you will have plenty of time to take it as slowly or push it as hard as you like. As long as you also reserve some time for the exquisite cuisine.

I know – spas, scenery and activity timetables aren’t exactly a rarity, so what makes Sonnenalp’s offering so special for me? Simply – it’s the WAY it is delivered, not wholly WHAT is delivered. Once on site, you do not feel that the business is run to make money. Throughout my stay the hotel was fully booked yet you did not sense any strain on the operation. The team is able to treat every guest like Royalty yet manages to connect with you at a very natural level.

My Sonnenalp stay allowed me to recharge and at the same time reflect again about what makes businesses truly stand out. This holiday has been the most varied yet relaxing I can remember. No surprise Disney’s Sleeping Beauty fell asleep in the famous castle close by. Quarter four? Bring it on!

How was your summer holiday? Are you refreshed and ready to roll into the final months of 2015 or do you still need to create yourself an opportunity to recharge fully?
